Our event during Diabetes Week event at Ramsay Pharmacy Wishart attracted local community members. Peta was in attendance to meet customers and discuss their questions about diabetes. The day was a great success, and many new friendships were made. Thank you to Accu-chek for sponsoring this event.

2021: Chairing the Roche Educator’s Day event during COVID lockdowns was a new experience. This international event brings together a range of diabetes health care professionals ready to share their knowledge and experience with diabetes educators. This event has been running for 34 years and is a favourite source of up-to-date knowledge and expertise.

Diabetes Week at Terry White Chemmart, Acacia Ridge sponsored by Accu-Chek. Pictured is Peta with local Accuchek representative Jennifer and the wonderful display they put together. At this event we offered blood glucose meter downloads alongside ad hoc discussions about diabetes.

2015: This amazing group of people are some of the most highly regarded experts in diabetes working in primary care in Australia. I am proud to be included in this group of fine people who deliver evidence based and accredited education to General Practitioners via Insulin Leadership Summit events (sponsored by Sanofi Diabetes Australia).

2021: Attending the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners Conference on the Gold Coast. We were invited to present a poster on behalf of the Australian Diabetes Educators Association on the topic of the Nurse Education Framework for diabetes health professional training. This important document was developed to standardise training for nurses who have an interest in diabetes and is used to guide nursing education for diabetes at the national level. Peta was fortunate to be part of a large committee who developed this resource.

2019: Bangkok
Peta was invited to be part of the Australian delegation to attend the APAC Nursing event in Bangkok, Thailand in January 2019. Here is is pictured with her fellow Aussie delegates.
