Changes are coming from November 1st that will make it easier to access my clinics. Medicare have announced that a referral will no longer be needed for Nurse Practitioner services from this date. This means that from this date you no longer have to worry that your referral is out of date before you make an appointment.
From 1/11/24 you won’t need a referral
to visit a Nurse Practitioner
The Australian Government have passed legislation that permits Nurse Practitioners to deliver high quality nursing services within their scope of practice without supervision from another clinician. It represents years of lobbying by nursing groups for recognition that nurse practitioners can deliver safe care to clients without the need for collaboration with a medical professional.
What does this mean?
We always strive to be part of the diabetes health care team and consider everyone who cares for your diabetes to be part of your health plan. Important clinical issues will be communicated with your doctor(s) as needed.
Please call us to make an appointment. The usual fees and charges apply.
