I am a firm believer in the importance of vaccination. As a child of the 60’s I’ve had measles, mumps, and chicken pox. I’ve also known people who survived polio, albeit with disfigurement and disability.
So when it was my turn to have the vaccine for COVID-19 I knew it was the right decision for me to have it. Over 30 years of nursing has taught me to understand the idea of risk vs benefit. This article from today’s Brisbane Times provides an interesting perspective on why this is the case.
I have had my first vaccination- Astra Zenica. There were side effects for the first couple of days. But this was accompanied by a sense of relief that I was part of the way toward being protected from Covid-19. I hope you enjoy the read.
